Touring to Miyagase④
August 10, 2023 Thursday morning will be sunny and hot during the day. The temperature is supposed to rise to 34 degrees for the first time since statistics began for this area.
Yesterday I took a chance and went to Lake Toya for a day trip. It had been quite a while since I had been there, but it was crowded with many foreign tourists. I will write about it later.
Now, we are going to Miyakase Dam (4). After the healing at Hayatogawa International Trout Fishing Ground, we went to the next destination.
When we arrived at Miyakase Dam from Hayatogawa International Trout Fishing Ground, we continued to see many cars, motorcycles, and bicycles in the fine weather. From Miyakase Dam, we continued downhill to Nanasawa Forest Park.
Soon after we arrived at Nanasawa Forest Park, we decided to go to another park because of the parking fee for motorcycles on weekends and holidays. I remember when I was in high school, I had a part-time job at a hot spring hotel in Nanazawa Onsen for a week or two.
I wondered if the ryokan was still there, and suddenly decided to go there. There was a 7-Eleven on the main street, and I entered the Seven-Eleven and found the ryokan. I felt nostalgic when I saw the ryokan, as my dim memories of those days came back to me. Nowadays, the ryokan has a new building in addition to the original building, which seems to be used as the entrance.
Around the entrance, there were many kitchen cars and stalls, and the area was crowded with local people, perhaps because it was Sunday. I was happy to see that the onsen ryokan with which I have a connection still exists and is further developing. I took some pictures with my phone and left the place.
After the stopover, we headed to Isehara City Sports Park. I decided to have lunch here and washed my face and hands in the washroom and ran into the shade of a tree. The sun was shining so brightly that it was impossible to eat unless in the shade of a tree.
We ate two cold rice balls (salmon and ume plum), canned sardines (also cold), and pickled carrots (homemade). An ambulance came into the park and someone was transported. It is dangerous to exercise in this heat.
After leaving Isehara City Sports Park (where Seijo University grounds are located), we refueled for the first time. The meter was about half full, but when I filled it up, I found that I had 2.16 liters of gasoline (168 yen/liter).
After that, I headed for the Aeon Mall Yamato on my way home, but I got lost and may have consumed some extra gasoline. The Aeon Mall Yamato is located alongside Ito-Yokado, and the Aeon Mall Yamato is not located on a street and is not conspicuous, so it may be correct to go there relying on the navigation system.
When I entered the store, it was crowded with families. I bought two 2kg bags of brown rice, which I wanted, and put them under the seat of my bike.
I drove on down Route 246 to my apartment. I left my luggage at the apartment and decided to go to IKEA, which suddenly came to my mind. The return time was 6:00 p.m. and it was still around 2:00 p.m., so my goal was to buy a replacement lid for the Tupperware I was interested in.
Soon after, I arrived at IKEA. When I went there by bicycle, it was quite a trip. But it was a very short trip by bike. The store seemed to be busy with families.
I bought two replacement lids for the Tupperware I was looking for and two 98 yen eco-bags that were near the cash register, and headed home.
Since we were promised to return a full tank, we refueled with 1.1 liters of gas at ENEOS near the return location.
In the end, I drove 160 km with 3.26 liters of gasoline during this one-day touring. The fuel consumption was 49 km/L, which was quite eco-friendly.
After you leave the bike at the designated return location, lock it, take a picture of it with your smartphone, and send an email to let them know that you have returned it, the procedure is complete. You will receive a reply email. I have not received any further communication from them for more than two weeks now, so I guess that proves that I returned the bike successfully and there was no problem.
I have not yet received a credit card bill for the rental fee, so it seems to be a relatively slow process. (The rental fee this time was 5,000 yen)
It had been about 30 years since I had been riding a motorcycle, but I was able to finish the trip happily without any accidents or major problems. I was able to do some unscheduled shopping (brown rice, Tupperware replacement lid, eco-bag) and spent an active Sunday, so it was a really fulfilling day.
I am now making fantasies for my next touring by watching motoblogs on YouTube. I close this chapter on our touring to Miyakase Dam in the hope that we will find a new hobby and have more exciting holidays. Thank you very much for your patience with us from (1) to (4).
